ERDT roadshow to CvSU


Five faculty members from the Institute of Agricultural Engineering (IAE), College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology, University of the Philippines – Los BaƱos (UPLB) headed by Dr. Ronaldo B. Saludes, conducted a roadshow on Engineering Research for Development Technology (ERDT) at the College of Engineering and Information Technology,  Cavite State University on 20 September 2012. CEIT Dean Aileen V. Rocillo together with the students and faculty members of the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering attended the event.

The roadshow aimed to orient the faculty and students on ERDT programs especially on scholarship and the four divisions of IAE. The ERDT program is a Human Resource Development program administered by the Department of Science and Technology. (GMCastillo)

6 graduates pass electrical engineer board exam

The College of Engineering and Information Technology congratulates six of its graduates who passed the Registered Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination given on 8-9 September 2012 by the Board of Electrical Engineering of the Professional Regulation Commission, namely:
  1. Eroles, Renen N.
  2. Gomez, Jay-R Z.
  3. Lobres, Robe Jhon R.
  4. Manimtim, Noemie Ann G.
  5. Pillerba, Julius B.
  6. Ronio, Abegail P.
Cavite State University Main Campus obtained 85.71 passing percentage.  The national passing rate is 53.24% (1,569 passers out of 2,947 examinees).

Seminar on NIR spectroscopy conducted

Dr. Jasper G. Tallada discussed Exploiting the Invisible: Near-infrared Spectroscopy Applications to Philippine Agriculture on         11 September 2012 at the Conference Room of the National Coffee Research, Development and Extension Center (NCRDEC), Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite.  Select faculty members and staff from related disciplines attended the seminar which focused on the science and technology behind NIR spectroscopy and its current and potential applications to agriculture and other industries.

Dr. Tallada is an assistant professor from the College of Engineering and Information Technology and the project leader on developing an NIR spectroscopy instrument which is funded by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD).
