Cavite State University, through the College of Engineering and Information Technology headed by Dean Aileen V. Rocillo, hosted the Training on Design, Tools and Techniques for Precision Agriculture/Smart Farming on 4-8 June
2012 at the Hostel Tropicana, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. The training, which was sponsored by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development, aimed to provide the researcher-participants with knowledge and skills on the use of
existing tools and techniques to S&T projects especially in the agriculture,
aquaculture and natural resources sectors.Among the 20 participants from eight regions in the country representing the academe (SUCs and private) and national agencies under the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Science and Technology, four came from the University, namely: Prof. Beng P. Umali (CAFENR) and Engrs. Michael T. Costa, Edwin R. Arboleda and Efren R. Rocillo from CEIT.
