CEIT promotes gender sensitivity

The College of Engineering and Information Technology through its Research, Development and Extension Office held the Seminar on Gender Sensitivity on 28 February 2013 at the Rolle Hall, CvSU, Indang, Cavite. Around 150 senior students from 12 curricular programs and faculty members of the college participated in the seminar.

Engr. Efren R. Rocillo, chair of the Department of Information Technology, welcomed the participants in behalf of Dean Aileen V. Rocillo. Dr. Marietta C. Mojica, Gender and Development (GAD) coordinator for Research, explained the objectives and mechanics of the seminar. She joined Dr. Nelia C. Cresino, chair of the University GAD Focal Point System, and Ms. Ma. Soledad M. Lising in discussing the issues on sex and gender, gender socialization, gender role differentiation, violence against women, sexual harassment, and other gender issues. The three resource speakers are faculty members of the College of Economics, Management and Development Studies.

The GAD Focal Point System also scheduled similar seminars for the students and faculty of other colleges in the campus.

Seminar on 5S and Industrial SOP
Seminar on Electrical Safety
The Department of Industrial Engineering and Technology recently conducted two seminars for its Bachelor of Industrial Technology Program. The Seminar on 5S and Industrial Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and the Seminar on Electrical Safety were held on February 6 and 28, 2013, respectively.  All Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology and Automotive Technology students together with the faculty members of the department attended the seminars.  Mr. Willie C. Buclatin, chairman of the department, served as resource speaker.
